Off-the-Grid Paradise:

3 Days in the Magical San Blas Islands, from Capurganá, Colombia

Ready to escape the ordinary? Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime journey to one of the most beautiful and untouched corners of the planet. The San Blas Islands – or Guna Yala – are a dazzling chain of nearly 400 palm-fringed islands scattered across the turquoise waters of Panama’s Caribbean coast.

This is more than just a beach getaway. These islands are home to the Guna people, an Indigenous community that has fiercely protected its traditions, culture, and land.

On this adventure, you won’t just be soaking up the sun—you’ll dive deep into an ancient way of life, connect with local people, and experience a culture that feels worlds away from modern life.

Island hopping in Paradise

Spend a day exploring some of the most breathtaking desert islands you’ve ever seen—untouched, picture-perfect, and straight out of a dream. Cruise across turquoise waters, snorkel vibrant reefs, and stop at a natural swimming pool in the middle of the ocean, where starfish rest on the sandy seafloor and the sea feels like a warm bath. Every stop is more beautiful than the last.

Discover Guna Culture – A Truly Authentic Experience

A highlight of this adventure is immersing yourself in the traditions and history of the Guna people. The Guna control and inhabit the Guna Yala region, also known as the San Blas Islands. After a successful revolution in the 1920s, they gained autonomy over their territory and have proudly maintained a traditional way of life ever since.

You’ll visit the village island of Goedub (also known as Caledonia), home to over 800 inhabitants. There, you’ll witness a vibrant traditional dance performance—an important part of Guna culture to this day. Join a local guide for a tour through the village, where you’ll learn about Guna history, customs, and celebrations.

There’s plenty of time to connect with the community: ask questions, share smiles, and even play with the local children. It’s a unique and meaningful experience, one that many travelers say is the most memorable part of their journey. The Guna people are incredibly welcoming and love to share their culture with visitors.

Authentic Adventure – Live like the locals

Life in Guna Yala is simple, but full of charm. The Guna people live with their families in traditional huts made from bamboo and palm leaves. They bathe and wash using bucket showers, and most sleep in hammocks strung up inside their homes. On this tour, you’ll experience that same way of life – with the option to sleep in a hammock or a bed, and yes, you’ll be showering like the locals too! It’s a true cultural immersion for travelers looking to connect deeply with a different way of life.
